New Firmware/Features

I realize this board is dead, but just in case:
I (for some unknown reason) have taken interest in this router.
I had never even heard of them until I saw the "RIP" article on engadget, and after calling them up, I got them to give me a great deal (much better than even the closeout prices) on 20 commanders and 10 media players (and a box of misc wireless nics unpackaged).

I have made some interesting changes to the firmware, adding a universal mass storage...

Lost Software need to download it from somewhere

I had a catastrophic crash and have lost my hard drive... I had all the data backup but figured that I would want to reinstall the software in anycase. Unfortunately out of all my software it seems like in the last move or two I have misplaced/lost the Prismiq SW. If anybody still have a copy of the software that can be posted somewhere or if you want to make a copy of the cd let me knoe and I will pay postage and something else as well.

It seems like all links to software are...

Does anyone have experience with Ubuntu? The link above looks really appealing (either one, but I can't afford the 'Seven'), and it seems like a good machine to hang my Prismiq off.....anyone done a Ubuntu build with the Linux software?

Go to www.archive.org/ and use their "Way Back Machine" they have some downloads archived, they have all their websites archived!

Sadly, not everything is there, alot is missing, but at least we have something to work with!

Commander Firmware

I bought some routers just before they went under and am facing the same problem with ALL of them. After a few hours of usage the routers seem to lock up. The lights are still flashing but no net access and i cant even ping the router. The wifi connectivity remains but the networking is kaput. I am thinking it has something to do with the firmware, they all have version 1.2 on them.

Can anyone help me out with another version of the firmware ? Cant seem to find it anywhere.

Software Upload

Could we get somebody to upload ALL the files they have for Prism either to a site or Torrent. I will be glad to keep a seed up for as long as possible and as long as I did not get mega hits I can host the software on several sites.

Server, Firmware and Firmware mods plus clients would be very nice ot have as a package.

Firstly, my apologies if this is a duplicate posting. I know this is not a highly active forum so I figured it wouldn't hurt to post it anyway.

I've used the Music On Demand app described elsewhere here but have been looking for a way to stream music without having to run the MediaManager on my Windows PC. Being familiar with Winamp and Shoutcast I've set up streaming completely controlled from my desktop where the Prismiq magent acts as a slave decoder.

This morning I tried going to the PrismIQ EZBoard forum and it failed. So I went to the main EZBoard page, searched for PrismIQ and found the board had been moved. Well of course if you're reading this you already know what the new URL is, p102.ezboard.com/bprismiqunofficialforum .

I don't know about you but the board move is VERY coincidental to the shutdown of PrismIQ...

anyone have the Linux MediaServer software?

Since PrismIQ has deep sixed I figured I'd see if anyone still have the Linux Preview/Beta releases. You would think that somewhere out there on an ftp/httpsite the files would still exist, but nada. I've looked on and off for several days for the files. The closest I've come is the Google cache for the directory listing they were in on prismiq.org.

just wondering, many prismiq web pages are closed down (cannot get to prismiq.org anymore ) and in the main one you see al products on sale (close out prices), you see very cheap media players and refurbished uints using even cheaper, do anybody knows what happened?

I am trying to create a service and use the Prismiq client.

Can anyone tell me how to re-direct the client to discover a server outside thier local network? and save that setting?

Currently I have changed the /etc/discovered file to add my IP:PORT and it does discover my server from work, but I can NOT keep that setting.

I would like to pre-program these boxes to know my server before I ship them out.

Can anyone help?

Creating INTENET / WLAN MediaServers?

I have tested modifing the /etc/discovered file and added IP from my work server.
From home I am able to discover my Server from work . but when I power off the system, the discovered file is re-init and all config was set back to nothing.

Does anyone know how to program this so I do not have to keep mucking with the /etc/discovered file?

I was just at the Prismiq Support page on the "official" site, to email support asking pretty-please with sugar on it could they release an update to include WPA encryption for the Media Player, and came across this on their support page:

MediaManager Icon Disapears from Taskbar

The MediaManager icon dissapeared from my taskbar. How can I force it to appear? Without access to that icon, I cannot control the start/stop of the media processing for the Watched Folders.

Anyone managed to get this working with the Prismiq? I gave it a quick try and it seems only the audio will work. I guess that is the only portion that is truly Upnp compatible as is required by the TVersity software.

They do not officially support the Prismiq but suggest that upnp compatible media servers should work.

File Deletion via web browser?

Has anyone come across a way to delete a media file from the file server via the Prismiq?

I am saving Mpegs from my Beyond TV and would like to delete them after watching.

I have tried a couple of web/ftp servers (Desknow) to try and access/delete via the web browser but there is always either a display issue or an execution problem.

Any ideas? Or am I out of luck because of limitations of the built in browser?
