			<description><![CDATA[ Now that Prismiq has called it quits, what's the possiblity of them opening up the box to allow people to use it however they want?<br><br>I bought one these a while back and while it was buggy and had an awful interface etc, it seemed to be capable of bigger things.<br><br>If they released the code or whatever was needed, this could be the Linksys Media Center for open source media players.<br><br>I'm sure if it was opened up, Myth people could make this a MythTV extender. 			<description><![CDATA[ ok, i posted a firmware image up on sourceforge based upon the 2.4.29 kernel, and the latest binaries from the new debian stable.<br><br>basically, it doesn't do much yet, just boots.  the configurations need to be worked on, but it has drivers for atheros cards (108mbs should be enablable), and prism54 cards.  problem is that stuff is hardcoded to be eth0 and eth1 in the system configs and prismiq software.  need to fix that (via ifrename/iftab to force?)<br><br>i'll clean up the notes... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ hi all,<br><br>posted this on the sourceforge forums too, but..<br><br>been looking at the newest versions of videolan (www.videolan.org), and it seems to handle many pieces of media being set up for streaming via RTSP.  I know people have played with it years ago, but it might make a good replacement for prismiq's video server and transcoder plugin if it can work.<br><br>also, wouldn't require tagging, and could transcode to mpeg2 (maybe even ac3 passthrough?)<br><br>anyone wanna play with... ]]></description>
